About Dr. Steve

Dr. Steve Hoorn is a native of Portage, Michigan. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California, and later got his certification in ART^®under the supervision of Dr. Michael Leahy.

Currently, Dr. Steve is based in West Hollywood, where he works with both recreational and elite athletes to help them reach their full potential.

I highly recommend Dr. Steve. My wife and I have been to him numerous times with great results. My wife actually pinched a nerve in her neck and could barely walk. Dr. Steve got her right in and worked on her for a full hour. After the hour she could turn her head and walk much better. The ART combined with slight adjustments are awesome. Dr. Steve has been my 2011 and 2012 go-to for restoring muscle health and joint balance...Dr. Steve’s application of Active Release Techniques (ART) has helped me feel as close to normal as I can imagine, and honestly, the combination of ART and adjustments make it tempting not to do stretches and myofascial release on my own. Had a constant nagging pain in my back and neck for the past year. After seeing my regular doctor, chiropractor and an orthopedic doctor who just gave me pain pills and said it would have to heal over time, I was exhausted. I met Dr. Steve at the gym and got his card, another try was worth the effort. I've been having back and hip problems for 2 years now. Visited other specialist and chiropractors that just couldn't fix me. Dr. Hoorn not only makes you feel brand new after one session he ACTUALLY works on you himself the whole time! Dr. Steve is not a chiropractor. He is a straight up magician. A black magic warlock. I'd been dealing with a mean case of plantar fasciitis for 4 months. I'd been stretching and icing meticulously, wearing a Strasbourg sock at night, Advil for the swelling - nothing was working. I finally read about active release therapy, and found Dr. Steve in my area. After 4 sessions over 2 weeks, I can run again. Seriously, this guy is magic.

Before Dr. Steve, I had been to maybe 3 or 4 different chiropractors but I was never convinced that chiropractic care was helpful. It never really made any difference in how my body felt. However, Dr. Steve has made a believer out of me - the combo of his chiropractic skill and the active release technique is literally amazing! On top of being really good at what he does, he is super nice person. Another pro is that as an athlete, he really understands the toll that working out can take on your body. I cannot recommend him enough.

Dr Steve is a lifesaver. Seriously. He's part physical therapist, part chiropractor, part massage therapist and a true miracle worker. I get shoulder and back pain despite regular Pilates, and he immediately hones in on the problem and fixes me right up. He's also a really nice guy - always very responsive and reliable.

Today is a great example of how his skills are miraculous. I have a very physical job and for the past month I have been doing stretches with the back roller, soaking in the hot tub, and taking anti-inflammatories. I finally realized the intense pain wasn't going away. I made an appointment and after about twenty pops and groans I feel a million times better. When your back isn't happy your world isn't happy. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with this man. He is a miracle worker. Believe me. I don't look like a little crumpled man because of him.

Dr. Hoorn is a miracle worker. I suffered with intermittent lower back pain, chronic shoulder pain (20+ years) and intermittent ankle swelling from Tai Chi. What a mess! After one visit I feel aligned and healthy. No pain, no swelling. Practiced 2 hours of Tai Chi following day with no issues. He is funny, caring, easy to talk to. Really listens, examines you with visual and tactile approach. His hands are so healing! LOVE this guy.

After almost 1 full year of pain due to tendinitis in my right wrist from typing and mousing, I had a minor surgery. In surgery, it was discovered I had an extremely inflamed nerve...no small feat to cure. It takes time and patience. Luckily I found Dr. Steve! I can be somewhat of a skeptic and it takes a lot to earn my trust, but he is intuitive and knows what to work on, what to do, how much to do etc...I trust him and I also found him to be very encouraging. I try to refer him to as many people as possible because I don't think I would have healed at this level without him, I can't recommend Dr. Steve enough!

Dr Steve Hoorn has proved time and again what a talented and amazing Chiropractor he is by adjusting my back so that I could get back to work with very little off time. Due to years of gymnastics and a very physically demanding job my back goes out often. Doctors just want to drug me up and put me out of work for months.
